Estimate required accessible parking spaces, van-accessible spaces, layout dimensions, signage needs, and operational considerations for festival and event parking areas.
Enter the total number of spaces in a parking lot or sector. ADA parking requirements should be calculated separately for each parking facility, lot, or parking sector.
This tool provides planning estimates based on ADA accessible parking guidance. Confirm final layouts with your authority having jurisdiction, venue, event permit requirements, and qualified accessibility professionals.
Minimum 96-inch parking space with a 60-inch striped access aisle.
Option 1: 96-inch parking space with a 96-inch access aisle.
Option 2: 132-inch van space with a 60-inch access aisle.
ADA parking areas should be placed as close as practical to the accessible event entrance. For temporary festival lots, the parking spaces, access aisles, and accessible route still need to be firm, stable, slip-resistant, level, and clearly marked.
The accessible route should connect ADA parking to the main entrance, ticketing area, accessible restrooms, and other required accessible services without steps, abrupt level changes, or blocked aisles.
Place ADA parking closest to accessible entrances and services.
Use hard-packed surfaces, matting, plywood, or turf protection where needed.
Parking spaces and access aisles should not exceed about 2.08 percent slope in any direction.
Use paint, cones, delineators, signs, and NO PARKING markings to keep aisles clear.
Assign staff to protect ADA spaces, answer questions, and direct patrons.
